PUBLIC HEARING – LANDFILL #2 Cell #4 EXPANSION

Roll Call – Councilor Graney, Councilors McNabb, Smith and Dempsey, Mayor Lattimore - Present.
        
Staff Members Present – John Rossi, Acting Corporation Counsel, Debra McCormick, City Clerk; Police Chief Gary Giannotta, Mike Talbot, Landfill Supervisor; Mike Long, Capital Improvement Program Manager

All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

The Mayor asked for a moment of silence.

Council voted on Resolution #74 of 2007 amending the date and time of the April 5th Council Meeting to April 4th at 7:00PM.  Vote: Councilor Graney, McNabb, Smith, Dempsey and Mayor Lattimore, aye.  CARRIED.

Mayor Lattimore introduced the City’s legal representative, Ginny Robbins from Bond Schoeneck and King PLLC.  Ms. Robbins asked anyone attending that wished to speak to sign in and they would be called by name in order of when they signed in to speak.  She explained that the public has until April 13th to comment in writing on the proposal.  Comments can be sent to Mike Long at City Hall.

Ms. Robbins introduced Paul Dudden of Barton and Loguidice Consulting Engineers.  Mr. Dudden provided a brief overview of the project.

Mayor Lattimore opened the Public Hearing and asked anyone present wishing to be heard on the proposed Landfill Expansion to come forward.

The following citizens spoke to Council to express their opposition to the expansion:

Bill Tarby, Town of Throop Supervisor 7285 School St. Rd.

Bill Cuddeback, 6916 N. Division St.
John Hogan, 13 Dexter Ave., Auburn
Mr. Rewet, 7210 North Division St. Rd.
Helen Scram 7437 State St. Rd.


The following citizens spoke in favor of the proposal:

Jerry Morgan, 22 Pulaski St., Auburn
Walt Aikman, 17 Liberty St. Auburn


Council adjourned at 7:15 PM.
